The Hosts
Whether you're passionate about skiing, snowboarding, hiking, or simply love the mountains, Marta and Mattia will provide personalized advice, ski or snowboard lessons, and hospitality that will make you feel part of this beautiful mountain community.
Hello, we’re Marta and Mattia, two siblings born and raised in Sestriere. Our passion for the mountains and the region has grown with us, evolving into a true vocation.
We are both ski and snowboard instructors, and we manage the restaurant on the ski slopes, Chalet Raggio di Sole together with our parents. We have always been dedicated to customer relations in both summer and winter tourism.
We are excited to welcome you to our chalet and provide you with the best experience in the Olympic Mountains.
The name “L'Anima della Montagna” plays on the name of the Borgata and the historic owner, Mrs. Alma, who lived here until the early 1980s. In Romance languages, "Anima" means soul. It is one of the original buildings in the village, historically known as "Barbou Enri."
During the renovation, we preserved the original layout, with the ground floor featuring a vaulted ceiling made of local stone, which was once used as a stable and multipurpose space for living and cheese-making. The upper floors, originally constructed with masonry and wood, were used for hay storage.
Thus, in what was once the most comfortable part of the building (because it was warmer), we created your living area, enhancing its original features (self-supporting stone vaulted ceiling with a stone column, and the underground bathroom in the Albergian room), carved out of the old Crota, an underground cellar for food preservation).
